GAÏA Converter Revolutionizes Power Architectures with Its New FLHG-60 Module

Press Release – January 2025

GAÏA Converter, a leading provider of power conversion solutions, announces the launch of the FLHG-60, an innovative module designed to meet the stringent requirements of military and avionics applications.

This 60W input bus conditioner offers an all-in-one solution to simplify and optimize power architecture designs operating at 24V and 28V. With its comprehensive features, the FLHG-60 efficiently combines traditional input-stage components such as filters, voltage limiters, diodes, inrush current limiters, and hold-up modules in one single module, reducing both space requirements and design complexity.

Advanced Features for Optimal Performance

The FLHG-60 integrates a wide range of protections and optimizations, including:

  • EMI Filtering: Removes conducted noise in common and differential modes, ensuring compliance with MIL-STD-461 and DO160 standards.
  • Spike and Surge Protection: Meets overvoltage standards such as MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, ABD100, and DO160.
  • Reverse Polarity Protection: Prevents damage from incorrect input connections.
  • Hold-Up Function: Ensures uninterrupted power during input voltage drops.

Designed for Demanding Environments

Encased in a rugged metallic housing and filled with a bi-component thermal conductive compound, the FLHG-60 is built to withstand even the harshest environmental conditions. Compatible with GAÏA Converter’s N input-range DC/DC converters, it supports all standard battery voltages and operates in three distinct modes:

  1. Normal Mode: Efficiently transmits input power with low losses and noise filtering.
  2. High-Voltage Transient Mode: Clamps surges to protect downstream components.
  3. Hold-Up Mode: Draws power from the hold-up capacitor during input voltage drops.

Allow minimal architecture using only 2 modules

With the FLHG-60, GAÏA Converter continues to push the boundaries of innovation, offering a solution that simplifies design, reduces space requirements, and ensures maximum reliability for critical systems.
