Modular Power Architecture
Modular Power Architecture is a way to design complex power supplies by using building block approach. Each of these building blocks integrates one or more electronics functions such as front-end protections, EMI filters, power stage...
GAIA Converter has optimized those building blocks to provide standard off-the-shelf products for easy and cost-effective solution integration.
Advantages of GAIA Converter Modular Power Architecture
Field-Proven Solution
In the most demanding conditions, in the most demanding weight and space reduction, the use of standard building block as core elements provide a field-proven solution to unique requirements
On Time Performance
Power Supply is too often thought at the very last minute when the all system is almost completed. The modular building-block approach cuts the time of developing a custom power solution starting from scratch.
Commitment to Qualified Products
Each Modular Power Architecture development offers the predictable and reliable performance assured by standard qualified building block products at the heart of the system.
Modularity
Building block modules allow quick response to changing power/output requirements as the design evolves, and simplifies industrialization once production is launched.
Adapted Solution
But above all, GAIA Converter unprecedented advantage is to propose the right product adapted for your market requirement.
GAIA Converter Modular Power Architecture approach
GAIA Converter offers a wide range of power components and accessories to build a complex power supply by building block approach.
Generally, a power supply requires the following functions :
- Protection against spikes, transients and drop-out coming from the input bus but also power factor correction adaptation from AC input bus
- EMI filters to reduce noise rejected on the input bus
- Monitoring and back-up features in case of failure of the input bus
- Power stage with different output voltages and current
GAIA Converter has classified the different functions in 3 stages as follow :
| STAGE | FUNCTIONS | GAIA SERIES |
|---|---|---|
| Bus adaptation stage | To protect against transients and spikes from input bus To comply with electromagnetic interferences To comply with power factor correction |
PGDS or LGDS series FGDS series HGMS series |
| Hold-up and Monitoring stage | Auxiliary function such as monitoring and hold-up modules | HUGD series |
| Power Stage | The heart of the system : the DC/DC and AC/DC converters. | MGDM/I series |
